I saw something that had a background that looked

I saw something that had a background that looked like it had watercolour circles, and some of them had bled into each other.

I wanted to try it out, so I decided to use different shades of red. To encourage the circles to bleed, I splodged some water on first.

I actually don't really like the results! But that's what happens when it's an experiment, right? Sometimes the outcomes are not what we hoped for 💖

The bits where the paper was wet are quite nice. So I might try again with different colours, and perhaps spray the paper with water rather than use a brush.

November is a very wabi sabi month. The flowers are over and lots of the leaves have gone. It can be a chance to see things that you might not notice otherwise.

Birch trees are beautiful and there are still some autumn leaves. There are rosehips where there were wild roses, and twigs with lichen on them are easier to spot 🍂🍁

During covid, I discovered that there is a tiny wood in my village. It's funny how you can live somewhere for 20 years and not even know what is there! 🤣 I walk up there quite often, and usually I'm the only person there. It makes me happy that I can get a little woods fix without having to catch 2 different buses!

Perfect is boring 💖 I'd rather see somebody's

Perfect is boring 💖

I'd rather see somebody's face as it's actually like, rather than a face that's hidden under a thick layer of makeup and you've no idea what that person actually looks like.

When I go to somebody's house, it's nice to see evidence of the life they're living.

I like to see gardens with messy patches, stinging nettles and long grass, because it means that somebody is looking out for tiny creatures 🐛🐞🪲

Drawings with wobbly lines, paintings with weird colours, and musicians who make mistakes are reminder that these things have been created by humans, not robots 💖

The weird thing in the reel is a piece I'm working on for my textiles degree. I buried a piece of calico in the garden and left it for a month. When I dug it up, it had some interesting holes, and all these beautiful colours and patterns.

It wasn't something I could control, and I had no idea that something so beautiful could be made naturally just by burying it in the ground!

Now I'm doing a little bit of stitching to enhance what is already there.

I like November 💖🍂

October is lovely, but I like November too. October is beautifully golden. In November there is less green, the colours are less bright, there aren't as many leaves and there is more brown and grey. It's colder, but a warm coat and some gloves go a long way!

It's still lovely, just different. What do you think?

The first photo I took in a tiny wood in my village. The second photo is of a beautiful tree round the corner from my house, and the third photo is of socks I am knitting. I chose the yarn because of its autumn colours, and it's just like the colours in the first two photos!
