The June edition of the Wild Blossom Companion is available, and the link is in my bio if you are interested in finding out more.

The Wild Blossom Companion is a gentle, seasonal, monthly guide for creative people. It includes:

🌸 a little reflective thing to read which introduces the theme for the month

🌸 some lovely quotes

🌸 creative invitations which are designed to be open ended and to encourage joyful exploration,

🌸 journaling prompts

It could be the right kind of thing for you if:

🌱 You are a creative person who finds inspiration in nature

🌱 You like the idea of gentle prompts and invitations, not rigid tasks

🌱 You enjoy experimenting and exploring without needing to "finish" something

🌱 You're looking for a quieter, more mindful way to tend your creativity

🌱 You sometimes struggle with perfectionism and would like to loosen its grip

It might not be such a good fit if:

🌞 You're looking for step by step tutorials or technical instruction

🌞 You prefer structured courses with goals and outcomes

🌞 You want fast results or lots of external accountability

The Wild Blossom Companion is a seasonal creative

The Wild Blossom Companion is a seasonal creative guide. I've written it for all of us who sometimes need a reminder that it is alright to slow down a bit, to go out for a walk with no other purpose than to be outside with the birds and the flowers, and that it is fine to make stuff without having an end in mind.

Each month has a little reflective piece that introduces the theme, and some lovely quotes. There are some creative invitations, which open ended ideas designed to encourage joyful, playful creativity, and some journalling prompts.

If you sign up for it, it will arrive in your email inbox at the beginning of each month. It's very nearly ready, and I'll be launching it at the weekend.

It will be a paid offering, £5 a month, and I'll share all the details soon.

The autumn before last, I had the seed of an idea.

A gentle, monthly guide that would start with going out for a walk and noticing what was going on in the hedgerows, the park, other people's gardens, that patch of waste ground between the little supermarket and the library.

It would be an opportunity to slow down and be present, rather than endlessly rushing from one thing to the next.

The guide would also include some creative ideas that would encourage joyful exploration rather than anxiety inducing perfectionism.

And now after a lot of thinking, plenty of overthinking, and several iterations, it is almost finished, and will be ready to be released into the wild probably early next week.

Green is never just green. It might be yellowy,

Green is never just green.

It might be yellowy, or more blue. It might be bright, or dark. There might be other colours mixed in there too, like brown or pink.

Paying attention to the seasons helps us to slow down, instead of endlessly rushing from one thing to the next, without taking the time to enjoy what is right there in front of us.

For creative people, we often want to do something. We feel inspired to make something, or we want to capture a little bit of it so that we can hold on to it for a bit longer.

Would you like to try this too?

🌿 Collect a few leaves
🌿 Arrange them from yellowest to bluest
🌿 Try to match the colours with pencil or paint

There's no need to worry about perfection, or having something that feels polished. It's just a little green pause, a way to notice 💚🌱
