Another Crocheted Flower Tutorial

February 9, 2015 · 4 Comments

Here’s another crocheted flower tutorial. I have a plan for these, so all will become clear in a couple of weeks!

I wanted to make a flower that was different to the others, so this one has a contrasting centre and twelve petals.

I like it with the pink in the middle, but a yellow centre would look nice too. It’s a great way for using up odds and ends of yarn, so you could just use whatever colours you have!

If you would like to download a text only version of the pattern, you can here: crocheted 12 petalled flower

Being British I have used British crocheting terms.crocheted flower

A Crocheted Lacy Flower Tutorial

January 29, 2015 · Leave a Comment

Crocheting flowers is great. They only require a small amount of yarn so the are a good way to use up odds and ends left over from other projects and who doesn’t love flowers? Especially at this time of year when spring still feels a long way off.

This crocheted lacy flower is similar to another one I posted about in A Crocheted Flower Tutorial. The differences here are that the main part of the flower is made using trebles rather than double crochets and the petals are lacy!

They are both about the same size when finished, so could be used together!

Please be aware that I have used British crocheting terms.crocheted flower

A Crocheted Flower Tutorial

crocheted flower tutorial pointed petalsHere is an easy little crocheted flower tutorial to brighten up up a cold, dark winter’s day. Better still, you can download it here as a pdf! Crocheted Flower with Pointed Petals

The petals are made by crocheting 1 dc, 2 tr and 1 dc. The points are achieved by adding a couple of extra chains between the trebled and slip stitching into the first chain.

If you are reading this and you are American, please be aware that I have used British crochet terms!crocheted flower tutorial

I think I might make a garland with my crocheted flowers. What will you do with the flowers you make?
