DIY Autumn Wreath One of the things I really like is coming home and seeing a wreath on my door. To be honest, there’s not an awful lot of other things to like about the outside of my house at the moment. But if nothing else, at least…

How To Make a Tied Wreath Last week I decided it was time to make my front door a present in the form of a tied wreath. A few years ago I made a new wreath for my door every couple of months. What with everything else that…

Free Crocheted Bunting Pattern Making crocheted bunting is a fun way to use up odds and ends of yarn from other projects. This pattern shows how to make traditional bunting triangles, worked in the round. The triangles are quite small, although obviously that depends on the weight of…

Bunting Tote Bag Tutorial This is a post I actually wrote 3 years ago when a new law was introduced in the UK that required shops to charge for plastic bags. I’m recycling it because it fits in nicely with the Year of Bunting! For making the bunting…

DIY Bunting Tea Towel There are lots of good things about being able to sew. One of them is that thereโ€™s no need to be trawling the shops or the internet because thereโ€™s something you want or need, and nothing you find matches whatโ€™s in your head! You…

Colour schemes for February ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค February alw Colour schemes for February ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

February always seems like a green and white kind of month. Snowdrops, obviously, but also I'm surprised at how much green there is at the beginning of February. The lack of leaves make the greens of moss and lichen, and of evergreens, more noticeable.

By the end of February, there'll be blossom, and maybe even a few leaves ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ฎ

I didn't before because I thought it was probably not the best idea to get myself into another thing that was potentially addicting! But due to the kerfuffle in finishing the next unit of my textiles degree, I missed the deadline to start in February, so I start the next unit in March. And I still wanted to try it.

These are the best results from my first attempts. The first one is my favourite, which I made with a piece of hessian. The second one was also hessian, and the last 2 were bubble wrap. But even the ones that didn't turn out that well had interesting bits, and the others could probably be used for backgrounds or collage.

I'm going to carry on experimenting. If you've tried printing with a gelli plate and you have some suggestions, please let me know!

Friday weirdness fix ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ˜‚ Things have been a Friday weirdness fix ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ˜‚

Things have been a bit quiet recently because I have been finishing off another huge unit for my textiles degree.

As I could have predicted, I got hideously behind and needed about 2 months when I only had a week!

Anyway, I managed to pull it out of the bag and got enough done and sorted out to hand in, and I only had a couple of minor meltdowns ๐Ÿ‘
